Explain to me what the informative essay assignment entails. What do you have to do? What is the purpose? How does it relate to the other essays? What key elements will I be looking for in an informative essay? Will you choose a similar topic for all three essays? Why or why not? Again, it is up to you whether you want to do that. How many sources do you need? What kinds of sources do you need? Why have a variety of sources?

This essay relates the other essays because I will be using the same topic. Also both the analysis and argumentative essays will need information which is very similar to the informative essays. This is like the reflective essay since this is meant to test and approve our writing. The informative essay is where we are supposed to choose a topic that we can research and inform the reader about. The key elements that you will be looking for are narrow topic, fast start, keeping the reader interested, define terms, remain objective, provide accurate information, document sources and have a good conclusion. This essay relates to the rest of the three because in the other two you are analyzing the topic from two sides and in the argumentative essay you are arguing what you believe is right. 17. The informative essay, unlike our other essays, asks the author to write about a topic using facts and concepts, rather than opinions and interpretations. Its purpose is to inform the reader, not convince them. Key elements that will make the essay complete include; an introduction, hook, three different areas of support, definition of key terms, the future and significance of the topic, and a strong conclusion. It is important that an essay have various resources so the reader doesn’t feel that the paper is biased and to verify that the information presented is accurate and to date. Therefore, three resources, at least one from a book, are needed. Although I haven’t chosen my topic yet, I think I’m going to use one topic for all three assignments, so that I can save time and learn more about my particular topic.
