  1. The thesis for an essay should be in the introduction paragraph. It is very important for it to be there because it is stating what you will be talking about in the paper. The thesis describes the points you will be making so it is clear to the reader what the paper is about. If it was anywhere else the reader would be confused throughout the whole paper.

  2. A thesis should be placed at the beginning of your essay. It is important that you begin an essay with a your thesis because it allows for your reader to know what you will be telling them ahead of time. It also helps organize your paper since you already know what your topic is. A thesis also let's a reader know if they will want to continue on reading the essay. If they have to search for what the topic is, they may not want to continue on; whereas, if you already had a thesis present--placed at the beginning--the reader will feel more engaged with the piece.

  3. Having a strong thesis statement sets the tone for the rest of your essay. You want to make sure its precise and clear so it doesnt confuse the reader. I think it also helps you as a writer get into a rythm when writing. You want to make sure your essay goes with the flow following your thesis. - Dominic Williams

  4. If you have a weak thesis the reader will be bored. If the reader is bored they will probably not like your paper because its not interesting. Having a strong thesis is important because the thesis is the center of the paper. With a weak thesis your whole paper is weak. The paper is build off of the thesis so it would be like having a building build on a weak ground. If the ground is weak the house proabably wont be secure. Its important to have a good thesis so you can build off it and have a great interesting paper.

  5. A thesis statement should be placed in the beginning of the essay. Specifically toward the end of the beginning paragraph. A thesis announces your topic and tells the reader what points you are going to make in your essay. With that being said it is important for it to be placed toward the beginning so the reader knows what to expect while reading your essay. The thesis gives the reader the information ahead of time and lets them know if they will be interested in your topic and if they want to continue reading it.

  7. A thesis statement should be placed in the first paragraph of your paper this will allow the reader to know right off the bat what they will be reading about, and allows them to decide if they want to continue reading. You want to make sure that your thesis statement is strong at the beginning of the paper so that you will get your reader interested in what you are going to be talking about. If you have a clear thesis statement at the beginning of your paper telling exactly what you are talking about then you also have a clear outline that your paper can follow.

  8. Having a strong thesis sets the mood for the essay and its lets the reader know how interesting it will be. The thesis should be clean cut becasue you don't want to loose the reader or confuse the reader through the essay. The thesis is one of the most important part of the paper becasue it sets the tone for the essay. Where the thesis is is important because it would not make sense to have it in a body paragraph.

  9. Having a strong thesis sets a tone for the rest of the paper. The reader knows what to expect from your main points. A weak thesis hurts an essay simply because the reader wont want to read the essay. It can also lead to a turn off if your thesis is bias. The beginning of your essay should always have the thesis statment. This location is important because its the outline of the paper.

  10. Your thesis should be placed in the intro of your essay. You want to give your readers a thesis there to expect what the reader will be reading. It will set the tone if it will be a boring essay with useless information or if it will be something worth reading. If it was placed anywhere else like in one of the body paragraphs, it will confuse the reader and make them unaware of what the essay is trying to prove. Rebecca Bush

  11. The thesis should be at the beginning of your paragraph. It is important that it is at the beginning, because the thesis tells the reader what the essay is going to be about. If you place the thesis in another part of the paragraph it could confuse the reader.

  12. If an essay's thesis is weak then that might lead the reader to believe that the whole essay is weak. As well, a thesis tells the reader what to expect throughout the essay, so if the thesis is weak the reader may be confused or unable to understand the paper's main focus. Having a weak thesis might hurt one's essay because when writing they may stray from the topic they originally had in mind and this will also make it harder for readers to follow your essay's main points. If a thesis is weak the rest of the essay might follow that example and be weak as well.

  13. Having a strong thesis is very important because you want your readers to be interested in what your writing about and want them to keep reading without getting bored. I try to write about things that are relatable to a wide range of people so it catches more than just a select group of people's attention. It is also important to make your thesis factual because if it is biased some people might not agree with your point of view and will not want to read your essay. I was always taught that the thesis goes at the end of your introduction paragraph to set up a guideline to tell your readers what your writing about. The different aspects of your thesis should be brought up in seperate paragraphs following your thesis to further explain what you are writing about.

  14. When writing a paper your thesis should be at the beginning of your essay within the first paragraph. The reason we put the thesis statement at the beginning of the essay is because you are introducing the reasons for the paper. The thesis draws in the reader, the reader usually decides from the thesis if they will continue to read the essay. By making your thesis interesting you insure that the rest of the essay will be interesting also.

A thesis is also important because it helps the writer organize the essay. The statement also helps set the tone for the rest of the essay. Therefore, if the thesis is strong and organized, the reader will want to continue reading.

  16. Having a strong thesis is important because it sets up the entire paper. The thesis is the outline of the paper. Therefore, the benefits of having it at the beginning of the paper is that the reader will know what the paper is talking about and will not be confused about the main topic of the paper. A weak thesis would not pull together the essay and confuse the reader about the main topic.

  17. The thesis of the essay should be placed in the intro paragraph, preferrably towards the end of it. The topic sentence and an attention getter, such as a quote would be in front of the thesis. Locating the theis at the end of the paragraph gives the reader a chance to be introduced to the topic, and then find the readers theme of the essay. The thesis can also be referred to again in the conclusion.

  18. A weak thesis can hurt your essay in many ways. If it is to broad, one cannot give readers an accurate sense of what will be discussed in the essay. A weak thesis can also make it difficult to cover all of the important points related to the topic. Another problem a writer may develop is lacking audience curiosity if the thesis statement is uninteresting or incoherent.

  19. A weak thesis can hurt your essay by not being able to state what your point is in a strong way. To have a good paper you must have a very strong thesis because the thesis is the main point of your essay. The thesis is what you are writing about and if it is weak then your entire essay will be weak because you were unable to state your point in a clear and intelligent way. A weak thesis can make the entire paper weak.

  20. A strong thesis at the begining of your essay is important because it is the very core that binds your paper together. It gives strengh to your ideas that you will develope and organize. If however your thesis is weak, your outline will be based on flimsy material, that can neither be, substantiated or convincing. This weakness, will cause the reader(s) confusion and loss of interest in the subject. It is also important, that your thesis be placed with-in the begining paragraph(s). By starting a strong essay, with your thesis at the begining, you are immediately communcating to your reader(s), what the essay is about, what supportive ideas you intend to persuade them with and how interesting the essay will be. It creates a map for the reader.

  21. By having a strong thesis in the beginning of your essay, you are grasping the audiences attention through letting them know what your essay is going to be about. It is essential for the thesis statement to be in the introduction paragraph because then the audience is informed of what is coming up. Having the thesis statement anywhere else would not make any sense at all. The reader would be confused. The purpose for a thesis statement is so that you as a writer can let the audience know right off what points you are going to make about the topic throughout the essay. Having a weak thesis statement can actually hurt your essay because the audience uses the strength of the thesis statement to decide whether the essay is worth reading or if it is interesting. The the stronger the thesis statement the more likely the audience is going to want to read your paper.

It is also a good idea to put the thesis towards the top of your paper. A weak thesis will hurt your easy since it will not be clear on what you are trying to write about. A weak thesis can also widen the focus of your paper so you would have a to much to write about.
